CRC is proud to support and partner with Chicago Run and Kaleidoscope in 2018

Chicago Run’s mission is to promote the health and wellness of Chicago children through innovative, engaging, and sustainable youth running programs. Over the past decade, Chicago Run has grown to annually serve over 17,000 children in 30 communities across Chicago, with 84% of whom qualify for free/reduced lunch. Chicago Run implements four programs for pre-k through high-school aged students in Chicago Public Schools and in partnership with other community organizations.  These programs are designed to be age-specific, to cater to the diverse physical capabilities of students, and to address the evolving challenges facing Chicago - including fighting obesity, the impact of violence within the community, and most importantly, providing a safe and welcoming space for Chicago youth to thrive. As the organization celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2018, Chicago Run is aggressively pursuing its strategic plan to meet the demand for running programs by expanding its programs to serve 30,000+ students a year by 2022.

Kaleidoscope is a non-profit child welfare agency that has been serving children and families impacted by abuse and neglect since 1973. We provide assessment, case management, clinical intervention, specialized foster care, independent living preparation and other services within home and community settings. We believe that relationships, and families in particular, are the best way for children to heal from trauma and grow into happy, healthy, successful adults. Through our expert programs and services, we equip the adults in a young person’s life to provide the best care possible. Together, we provide kids with the adult support, patience and guidance they need to succeed. Our Goal is to keep children safe within a home environment through innovative service delivery. Our Mission is to empower children, youth and families impacted by abuse and neglect to build resourcefulness, resiliency and supportive relationships. Our Vision is that all children and youth have the opportunity to enjoy safe and healthy lives nurtured by responsive adults.

In 2000, CRC leadership saw the need to formalize the charitable giving of the organization.  That same year, the Charitable Causes Committee was formed to encourage CRC membership to engage with local charities and leverage their own charitable hearts.

Volunteer opportunities will be announced during the year.  No previous experience is necessary.  A willing spirit and a giving heart automatically qualify you to take part in the activity.

Please keep an eye out for opportunities to give:  the Silent Auction in February of each year is by far the biggest fundraiser.  Smaller opportunities are made part of the other meetings.

Never get tired of doing little things for others. Sometimes, those little things occupy the biggest part of their hearts.
