Charitable Causes Committee 2017

Through your generosity over $10,000 was raised in 2016. Thank you is not nearly enough.

In 2017 your donations will assist the following charities to meet their goals.

On April 23, 2016, nine of our household goods members joined together to be drop off spots for bikes, helmets, and locks as a way of giving back to the community and Working Bikes.  It was a great success with plans already underway for another donation day in the fall.  Thank you to all that donated.

On July 18, several members of CRC participated in an Olympics Day with Hephzibah Home.  Games included sack races, egg tosses, marshmallow runs, and run the course and put on a hat, sunglasses, t-shirt, and blow a whistle.  A rousing time was had by all.

A check for $5,000 was presented to Hannah Weigel on behalf of CRC.  She was overwhelmed by our generosity and couldn’t say “thank you” enough.

Also on July 18, Laura Henneberry was able to stop by and visit with Julie Nicewander of Working Bikes.  She was excited to receive a check for $5,000!  Julie couldn’t wait to call her Board of Directors and let them know of the windfall.  According to Julie, this will cover the cost of shipping a container of bikes.

And staying true to our giving spirit and commitment to the mobility industry, we will also support:

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Charitable Causes Chair, at

In 2000, CRC leadership saw the need to formalize the charitable giving of the organization.  That same year, the Charitable Causes Committee was formed to encourage CRC membership to engage with local charities and leverage their own charitable hearts.

Volunteer opportunities will be announced during the year.  No previous experience is necessary.  A willing spirit and a giving heart automatically qualify you to take part in the activity.

Please keep an eye out for opportunities to give:  the Silent Auction in February of each year is by far the biggest fundraiser.  Smaller opportunities are made part of the other meetings.

Never get tired of doing little things for others. Sometimes, those little things occupy the biggest part of their hearts.
